This work was specifically conceived for the exhibition “In Common Struggle. About feminist men and women”. It consisted of two digital drawings designed as leaflets or publicity posters, where I establish a visual parallel between the silhouette of the female body and the beef cuts typical of butchers. By means of the terms that are used to describe the portions of meat obtained after the cutting of an animal destined for human consumption, I raise a critique about the sexual thingification of the body of women in our society today. The ribs, fore shank, veal round or strip loin, are names of pieces of meat with which I have pointed out some parts of the female body. In this way, I reflect on the representation of women in many media and in advertising, where it is exposed as cattle. The female image is too often treated as a commodity whose value depends only on its physical attributes, without recognizing its capacity as an individual.
