On the occasion of the centenary celebration of the Ateneo Obrero in Gijon ’s La Calzada’s borough, Larrea was invited to take part in a project, “Periferias”, doing an urban performance for it’s third edition. Her proposal consisted in creating a portable zebra crossing, which was given to a group of pedestrians to be used whenever they wanted to cross the streets without having the fear of being run over by a car. Through this direct and provocative action it was shown to the pedestrians that when their right of safely crossing a street is denied, they are able to take the decision of improving it by in forcing their own priority right using the portable zebra crossing.
