Mudejar Spiral
Reddish brick spiral path in the form of a spigot
17 x 25 m.
2008
Financed by Ministry of Environment and Zaragoza Town Hall.
This intervention was presented in Zaragoza within the International Exposition Zaragoza 2008. This intervention on the landscape reproduces the symbolic form of the spiral, a figure that stems back to ancient times, and is related to the undulating movement of water. The relationship with Mudejar art only helps to emphasis multiculturalism, respect and coexistence of towns. Diana Larrea also invites spectators to participate actively in her project. She invites them to cross the labyrinth that she has created, to stop and assimilate the ideas that this form communicates to us, regarding symbolism, art and concept.
